What is Network for Good? What does it have to do with the 4-H Foundation?

Network for Good is a non-profit organization that processes online credit card and online check payments over the web for the Foundation and thousands of other charities in good standing with the IRS and state regulators, with security and privacy protection. Network for Good treats all payments as contributions. Receipts can be printed during the payment process and a confirming e-mail is sent soon after. A service fee is deducted from your payment, and the balance is electronically deposited in the 4-H Foundation's bank account. Since Network for Good is itself a qualified charity, their fee as well as your payment to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. The Foundation will acknowledge the gross amount of your contribution and disclose any benefits you may have received from your payment, such as golfers in the 4-H Open tournament.

What information do I need to pay online?

An e-mail address for receipting your payment, and a password you choose. Network for Good creates an account for you to view the history of payments you make to any charity through its service. It is your option while filling out the donation form whether or not to share your e-mail address with the Foundation.

Your credit card information, including the security code that's imprinted on the back of most cards, except American Express where it is imprinted above the account number on the front. Billing address zip code.

If paying by online check, your checking account information including the bank routing number as well as the bank account number. An ID of the account holder, such as driver's license.
 
How do I use Network for Good?

Click on Network for Good icon. See the Foundation's listing.

Click on the Donate Now icon. This opens up the gift form. You need to fill in three items, and look at two others to make changes to the default if you wish.
  1. The contribution amount - in the case of Golf Open registrations is the total registration fees you wish to pay.
  2. Donation Preference is pre-selected for a one-time payment unless you change it.
  3. Privacy Preference is pre-selected to provide your name and e-mail to the charity unless you change it.
  4. Designation is a text box - indicate the payment is for Golf.
  5. Customer Login - enter your e-mail address and password of your choosing for a new customer.
Click Continue. This brings you to the section where you enter the credit card information or bank account information. Processing fees disclosed are not added on to your payment. Fees are subtracted from what the 4-H Foundation receives. This is customary business practice. You receive full credit and recognition by the Foundation for the full payment.

In addition to your payment amount, a checkbox to donate to Network for Good may appear pre-checked. When you continue and review the summary of your account charge on the Complete Donation step, a separate description would be listed, along with the amount. Click on the Change icon to go back to your account information and uncheck the box. Continue forward, review the summary for the correct description and amount, and click on the Complete Donation icon to process your payment. This page is your receipt.
